Umber cottage

New 4-bed house in a village conservation area.

The Cottage

A two-storey extension to a traditional cottage creating, on the ground floor, a family room incorporating a kitchen for a professional caterer.

Woods Cottage

Extension to the rear of a Victorian estate cottage.

Stybarrow Fold

The original lowpitched roof of this house (see right) had reached the end of its life and it was decided that natural slate would be the appropriate material to use.

The roof pitch had to be increased and this created space for two new bedrooms and a large bathroom. At the same time two extensions were constructed and the entire house refurbished

Silver Birches

This small two-bedroom bungalow was extended and its small roof literally raised, to create a spacious three-bedroom house

Esthwaite Cottage (nearing completion)

This Victorian lodge has been transformed through a combination of internal alterations, a few minor external alterations, and the addition of a major two-storey extension. A single-storey flat-roofed extension has also been replaced by one with a pitched roof to match the rest of the house.

No. 1 Hillside Cottage (under construction)

A delapidated extension was removed from this cottage and replaced by a large new extension. Levels were arranged to create a sitting room at ground floor level of the original cottage, with a new bedroom and bathroom beneath.
